November 10, 2008It was a great honor to receive a “Woman of Dedication Award” at the Salvation Army’s Women of Dedication Awards Tea event at the Chantilly Tea Room. My husband Thomas, my mom Lorraine, and I enjoyed the delicious tea and crumpets! Thank you to my friend Tamara McElwee for presenting the awards to me, Chita, Gina Murphy-Darling, Heather Robinson, Jan Robinson, Kathleen LaRose, Linda Solomon, Slivy Edmunds Cotton, and Susie Dupnik. The Salvation Army has a 143 year history of mission-driven service throughout the world and has been a source of faith, education, and support for millions of people.
Thank you to Dad and his friend Dave Barber for inviting me to speak at the Tucson Sunrise Rotary Club and the Arizona Inn. I had the opportunity to share my Mrs. America and Mrs. World experiences and promote my platforms Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation and The National Anthem Project.
